Well, I'm here. Just has my post-op appt. Dr says everything looks fine. My staples come out on Monday. I'm in a lot of pain. At first I wasn't, but as the drugs wore off the pain came on. I tried to prepare myself for the pain I would be in, but....

I can move my arm a bit more today and the dr says don't be afraid to move it. No more sling. I'm moving it a bit, but it feels so tight, like a ton of weights are on my shoulder. My arm feels like dead weight.

I can use my hand from the elbow down without any problems, thus why I can type.

I ended up not having a torn rotator cuff, but severe bone spurs. I got lucky. It could've been much worse and my arm would've been strapped to my body, severe pain. And I opted for no nerve block after they told me about some horrible side effects, I decided to just deal with it. Luckily I didn't get it since I didn't have the torn rotator cuff.

I begin physical therapy on Monday after my staples come out. They gave me some tips on what I can do at home for now.

My husband has been wonderful in helping me. A lot better than I thought he would be honestly. The kids have been behaving, my oldest helps me with the little things like putting my air into a ponytail. Things I cannot do yet. I can't raise my arm up anymore than about 2 inches so far. I almost passed out a couple times from the pain and seeing my staples. I know I shouldn't have looked, but I was curious. BIG MISTAKE. My incision is huge, about 2 inches across at least, my husband thinks it's more.

Either way, I'm here and am getting better slowly as each day passes.

I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

Have a Happy 4th of July!
